Security measures against attempted fraud

The number of online attacks by fraudsters is constantly increasing. These individuals try to obtain data online by misrepresentation in order to enrich themselves financially. This often occurs through phishing text messages or emails. You as a dealer can also be affected by online fraud. It is therefore important for us to make you aware of this topic and to appropriately prepare you for such attacks.
What is phishing?
Phishing is a method of fraud in which con artists try to obtain login data using a false website. In addition to the Chrono24 website, many other trustworthy sites, such as banks and financial institutions, are copied. We explain in detail below how the fraudsters do this and how you can protect yourself against such attempts.
Here's how a phishing attack works:
- You receive an email or text message that gives the impression that it came from Chrono24.
- The email or text message contains a link that you’re told to click on.
- The link takes you to a website that looks similar to Chrono24 and usually also contains the term “Chrono24” in the web address (e.g., Chrono24.xyz.com/login).
- You will be asked to enter your password on this website.
- As soon as you enter the data, fraudsters gain access to it, as they are the true operators of this false website.
How to protect yourself from phishing attacks:
Exercise caution when logging in to your account: In general, be careful when you are asked for your login details and check the page you are on carefully.
Change your password regularly: Choose a secure password and change it regularly. Also make sure that your Chrono24 password and your email password are different.
Never disclose confidential data in emails: Instead, enter "www.chrono24.com" in your web browser and then log in.
Do not click on suspicious links: Move the cursor over links in emails or text messages without clicking on them. If you cannot clearly identify the URL as Chrono24, do not click on it. Do not open any attachments in suspicious emails either.
Check the sender address: e-mails sent by Chrono24 always end with "@chrono24.com" or "@reply.chrono24.com". Fraudsters often use similar-looking sender addresses.
Pay attention to spelling mistakes or anomalies in the text: Phishing emails often contain grammatical errors or unusual wording. However, texts are getting better and better with the use of artificial intelligence. You need to be particularly careful.
Check the legal notice and data protection information: Suspicious emails often contain incorrect or no information on legal notice and data protection.
We are doing everything we can to have fraudulent pages blocked as quickly as possible. By following the above points, you are actively helping to prevent fraudsters from having a chance.
