New Availability Settings on Chrono24

"Inventory" and "Availability" are being combined into "Handling time"
Handling time = time between payment and shipping
The information you enter is binding
Delivery times will soon be calculated automatically
Experience has shown us that the availability settings in the Market Portal do not consistently result in customer or dealer satisfaction. It’s not always clear to potential buyers whether a watch is available immediately or if it needs to be procured by the dealer. That’s why we’re changing our existing availability settings.
Our ultimate goal is to reduce the number of delivery delays and cancelations, and increase the number of satisfied customers and positive dealer reviews.
Here's what's new:
In your Market Portal, you’ll find a new handling time setting below the fields for inventory and availability.
The handling time is the period between receiving payment and handing the item over to a delivery service.
You can list an item in one of the following ways:
The item is in stock (available now)
- You are required to ship the item within 3 days*.
The item needs to be procured (on request)
- You are required to ship the item within 30 days.
- Shipment within 30 days cannot be guaranteed.
After a transition period, handling time will replace the existing availability settings. We’ve created the following table to provide you with an overview of how an item’s availability generates new responsibilities when it comes to handling times:
Availability |
Our assumption |
Your responsibilities |
Item is on site and designated “Available now” | Item is in stock | The item must be shipped within 3 days* of receipt of payment. |
Current availability is 3-5 or 6-10 days | Item needs to be procured | The item must be shipped within 30 days of receipt of payment. |
Current availability is “On request” | Item needs to be procured | Shipment within 30 days cannot be guaranteed. |
* Sundays don’t count!
The information you enter is binding
Following the transition, the handling time you enter will be binding. After the new system is in place, we will check to see if you have met the specified handling time after every purchase. Violations will result in additional fees.
Dealers who meet their deadlines with regard to handling times and send items quickly will profit in the long run from their reliability, since handling times have a direct influence on an item’s delivery time.
We'll be automatically calculating delivery times
In the future, we will be automatically calculating a delivery date for your customers. We’ll do this by adding the handling time to the average delivery time between an item’s location and its destination.
Accurate delivery times depend on accurate handling times. In return, you’ll save time when listing an item, since you will no longer need to enter delivery information yourself.
Provided the handling time you enter is correct, the automatically calculated delivery time will have no negative impact on your performance in the case of delays arising during the delivery process.
